Creating raised contour in MC X5

Did a search but didn't come up with anything that I could relate this to. Seems pretty simple though.

I am trying to create a scroll on a sign. I want the scroll raised and contoured. What I did was found a scroll on Google and converted it to a DXF using Inkscape. Now I import that into MC X5 onto a square that will represent my sign board. With this setup the scroll is flat on top of the board. So now I need to mill the rest of the board down about .250, leaving the scroll exposed. I can do this with a sharp 90* edge, but how do I round it to make a contour? I have it set to 3D and have tried Create>Surface> and just about every option under there but haven't got it to work.

    Thanks.

Could you not fillet the scroll with the required radius?

Do you have ART add-on? I'd probably import it into art and do lofting from there. Don't do this stuff often and don't have the program at the house, but art seems to be a good tool for these situations. Maybe someone else can walk you through this in art.

No Art on this. I gave up and moved on to another project. I made the sign but no scroll. Trying to familiarize myself with Artcam and vcarve now. Downloaded the demos and have been playing around with them.

I don't have a copy of Mastercam but we have it at work. I have played around with it a little but don't work in that department so my access, and knowledge, to it is limited.

But thanks anyway. Next time I will try to post a picture of what I am working on.

Thanks I will look back later for your picture to see if there is an easy way with what you have.
