Connect 2 steppers on one output on controller

    Hi!
Am making a cnc machine, in mm, its 1300x900mm
I am wondering if it is big problems to use 2 steppers on one axis.
Becuse I have a lot of travel on my gantry, I want to have trapez* threads on both sides. I havent bought some cnc steppers or controller still, since am not sure how to solve this problem.
I was thinking maby I need to use 2 smaller steppers to not get to high A on controller output.
If some one can help, please write! altso, if you have some good suggestion on what set, or from wich website I can buy from tell me!

    greetings from norway

    Hello Ipo,

as far as I'm aware you have to have a controller for each motor, if you wish to use 2 motors for the X axis you'll need a break out board with 4 axis control to control the extra motor.
Alternatively use a timming belt to run both screws off the one motor, the has been plenty of discussion on this here so have a good look around the site.

    Cheers Liam
