Any idea how to fix this?
I adjust the Geckodrive, which pot to turn down a bit?

A servo motor should never be hot at idle. Tell us more on your z axis configuration. Is it direct drive or pulley reduction. What is the motor continuous torque rating? Z axis weight. Type of leadscrew and pitch.
Gecko servo drive will always dither a bit when idle. Tuning can minimize but if there excessive force on the motor due to z axis weight, it will be difficult to fine tune it.
there is no load on servo at rest from the Z axis.
its a turnkey IHCNC, with a Kellig 1100 oz servo
your gain is set too high causing too much dither
Great! I'll give that a shot. Thank you
