From UK and looking to buy a Hurco Vm10 soon.
Basic list price = £35k (What sort of discount can we expect for a first machine considering we are likely to stay with them when expanding?)

As I'm sure many of you know there are many options to choose from, but I'm not sure what some of them mean.

We'll get the VM classic package - What is high-speed profiling software with data smoothing, S curve acceleration and look-ahead features?

Another option they give you for VM series options is to have linear scales for XYZ axis fitted for £6.5k! What are these scales for?

Hi

They have a lot of options available besides this, If you phone in and ask to talk to one of their Apps guys I am sure they can explain to you. The highspeed profiling software basicaly smooths out jerky movements when machining in high feedrates which is very nice for dies and moulds. It is also sometimes called dynamic look ahead and can look ahead up to 600 blocks if programmed in ISO.
The scales are for when you want to move with absolute acurate repeatability with in a few thousands of a millimeter.

By the way you do know that they are have a massive sale at the moment?
