    Birch Laser Ply

    Hi all,

I am taking delivery of my 40W Laser engraver/cutter later in the week and am pulling together various materials to get me going.

Can anyone tell me what thickness of Birch Laser Ply Wood I could expect to cut. My stockist has it in 4mm and 9mm.

    Many thanks

    Dave.

4mm for sure. 9mm would be pushing the limits. You might be able to do in multiple passes but I suspect you'd get a lot of burning going that thick. Plus, you'd probably have to change your focus if you did multiple passes.

    I do 1/4" with my 35W
