    Howa, Fanuc T5, Retrofit

    Has anyone any experience with retrofitting a Howa, or other lathe, that has a Fanuc T5 controller?
    I would like to fit new X & Z servo drivers and change main drive motor to variable speed.

    Can you tell us more about the X,Y servos and the spindle drive? Pictures and name plate info would be a great help. You should also check out exactly how the tool changer is powered.

    Hi Carl

    We have managed to get it going again, so I guess a retrofit is put off for the moment.

    It would be a good project, as it has servo motors 8 tool stations etc. Still while the old T5 controller is working, it does what we need.

    Thanks for taking the time to reply, as you have before with lots of help on our Cincinnati retrofit.
