We have a communication cable that we have been using to get programs back and forth between our M32, T+, and fusion controllers to a centralized PC running Easytalk. its a standard DB9 (pc) to DB25(cnc)
This cable got eaten by a piece of equipment here and its now impossible to see how it was put together.
I have been given several pinouts, from both online sources and from mazaks own electrical engineering division and nothing i make with them seems to be working.
i get a misconnected error no sooner than i press the start button.
CLEARLY , im not reading these pinouts correctly..
this is the .pdf file mazak sent me,
http://www.savefile.com/files/613836
im a little confused as the pinout on the top table and the bottom diagram dont seem to match to me.
I have wired up my cable twice, two different ways per my interpratation of that file..
AS I SEE IT....
the top table shows
db9 | db25
3 | 2
2 | 3
7 | 4
8 | 5
6 | 6
5 | 7
1 | 8
4 | 20
9
am i reading this to mean that "pin 3 on db9" goes to "pin 2 on db25" and "pin 2 on db9" goes to "pin 3 on db25" ? and so on??
reading the bottom diagram it reads, at least to me, an entirely different wiring scheme.
db9 | db25
3 | 3
2 | 2
7 | 5
1 | 8
4,5,6, jumpered
Am i reading this to mean "pin 3 on db9" goes to "pin 3 on db25" and "pin 2 on db9" goes to "pin 2 on db25" ? and so on. cause this seems to confict with my interpretaion of the top table.
at any rate ive tried it both ways as ive shown and i get a misconnection error FAST..
Clearly i must be misunderstanding what theyve provided as neither of my interpretations work.
think someone here could perhaps somehow spell it out for me in another way that someone with no experience in such matters may more easily grasp.
thx
