Hello, We have a mori mv55 that won't go from low gear to high gear with the spindle. I can run jobs as long as I don't prog over 800rpm on the spindle speed. Anyone got any Ideas what this could be???? Thanks to all... Zagnag

Parameter
Spindle drive (if Yaskawa)
relay
solenoid
broken shifter fork.
Not a common problem. Nothing stands out. You need to dig in to it to figure out if it's electrical or mechanical.
Does it shift and alarm out, does it not shift at all, does the spindle stop and try to shift, more details.
It doesn't alarm out. It tries to shift I can hear it, but nothing happens. It will run fine in low gear. Is it possible that water in the lines could cause this?? Thanks< Zagnag
Water in what lines? That never sounds good. MV55 is a hydraulic shifter machine. Very old school.
probably a SMC solenoid valve fault. U can locate this valve at right side of spindle under a rectangular cover. Good Luck!
Yes we have water in the airlines, only one dryer clear across the room and this machine didn't have a dryer on it. By dryer I mean the bottle that is usually in front of the oilier bottle to catch water out of the lines. Yesterday I talked the boss into putting one on this machine and last night it was shifting into high gear. Not sure it is fixed but time will tell. Thanks for your input. Do you think water could effect this???? Thanks, Zagnag
Thank you, I will check that out if it happens again. Take care, Zagnag
If it's a air shifter yes it will make a difference. What color is the machine, green or white?
It is white.... Thanks, zagnag
