How to stop reset button automatically changing G59 to G54

I have started a new job where all tool height offsets are set using G59.The problem is that if I hit reset the controller resets back to G54 which is a pain. Is there a parameter which stops the reset button automatically resetting G59 back to G54?

    Regards Kevin

Parameter 1201.7 unless it is a really old controller.
Even the 30 series use this.

There is no Fanuc parameter that allows you to defeat the switches.
Some builders use a keep relay to allow you to temporarily disable the switches for setup.
Otherwise, the only way is to defeat the switches is with a dummy key, or rewiring if the do not use a key.
Obviously, for safety reasons that is not recommended, but as a machinist, we do what we have to do to make parts.

there is no Fanuc AL 100.
you need to find out exactly what control it is. look inside the electrical cabinet there will be some stickers on somewhere saying what it is.
    or a number like A16B-2200-xxxx-xx

I can't think of any conceivable reason why anyone would need to do a tool change with the door open. you cant disable the door locks easily without secret info.
