this is the first time ive tried it on this machine. worked surprisingly well. the one on the left is right off the machine.
took about 35 minutes at 40ipm, 0.003" step over, 2 flute 0.125" ball nose. the piece is aluminium about 1.625" diametre.

i used visual mill for it. ill be doing a video soon. i did a video of this one but it was hand held and looks bad. i had the tripod mounted on the machine, but it rattled around. also had the tripodon the floor but you could not see the top of the work piece. need to rig up something better over the weekend.
im inverting the workpiece and turning it into a mould. then were going to make wax patterns and cast them in lead crystal glass. im also making plastic patterns and using them to make a miniture muffin tin - a test for a friend who makes bite sized cakes for catered events.
the surface is so nice, it really needs no clean up for those 2 applications.
