    HAAS VF3

It has been awhile, but I am climbing back into the seat. I am working out some serial connection issues with the machine, but I did drop in code to the machine via floppy disk before.

I am starting with some simple engraving. When I generate the code, each line has N #'s , and code I generated years ago does not. I have selected the HAAS VF series for the NC config. Should I select something else?

Also, aother dummy newbie question. How do I set the z depth globally in the code.

    Thanks,

I tried to get some code into the machine last night. FAIL. Since I am working with ancient technology........floppy disks......... I had to go home to open the floppy and see what I did wrong. The code had 2-% signs in the begining and 2-% signs at the end. I think that may have been it. I will give it another wack tonight.

On the CAM side, go to File > Setup...
There is where the second set of % signs are probably added.
Either delete them or check the Strip First/Last Lines box.

This affects code only when exported out of BC....so to verify, you need to open the g-code file.

This works in v21, I think v20 is the same.

If you want to get rid of the sequencing e.g N100,N101,N102... you need to modify the post. Open the post in the text editor and hit CRTL F, and seach for sequence. On my HassVf it is line 207. Change the Y to N and save. when you post you will not have sequencing anymore
