    Problem with steppers or board.

Well the gnomes are back! Tonight I was turrning down a piece of
aluminum earlier and both motors just stopped. I put tcnc into jog
mode and tried a fast jog and it does nothing. if I push the slow jog
it moves a step for every push and if I hold the button down it does
    nothing.

I checked my voltages again and everything is correct. Power supply,
and vrefs. So I ran a line of gcode and tried to move the axis a few
inches and the motor just makes the loud grinding noise. (the grinding
noise like when you move the motors too fast"

Is there anything I can test to rule out the xylotex board or my
motors. I doubt that both motors would go at once.

Do you have a fan blowing on the heatsinks?

I sure do, I have 2 huge fans covering both heat sinks. I let it sit all night and its doing the same thing this morning.

What voltage were you running at, and what was your VREF set too?

Do the motors lock up when you turn on the Xylotex, or are they weak?

24V, VREFS are at 3.0 each. Before when I would power up the board I couldn't move the couplers, now I can move them. Its not loose that its easy to turn, it does take some muscle, but I can turn them now and couldn't before.

Did you recheck the vref? Check the voltage again? You might want to email Jeff at Xylotex.

Found my problem to be my turbocnc.ini file was corrupted. i think its time for a change to Mach 3. Turbo CNC bombs out a fair amount as it is.. Time to move on!
