Aluminum socket spacer - price estimate

    Hi,

I am planning out a cnc router project using 4 x 4 x 1/4 in Al structural tubing. (the type that has square corners) These parts are intended to just barely slide into the end of the tube and help with connections.

I will need 25 each Al blocks made:
    - Al 6061 or equivalent
    - 3.5 x 3.5 x 1.5 inch + 0 / - 0.010 inch

    - the 3.5 square face flat to +/- 0.010 inches across
    - The 2 inch faces perpendicular to the flat square face +/- 0.1 degrees
    - The corners can be radiused if that helps, and in the end, probably will be.

These parts will be entirely hidden, so there is not spec on finish, it just helps to support a joint from the inside.

Right now I just need an estimate if this is a job that is more like:
    - $ 50
    - $ 100
    - $ 250
    - $ 500

I live in Pleasanton, CA (not far from San Jose) and prefer to buy local if possible.

    Thanks

    Harry

Hi, thanks for the people that sent the info to me.

As it turns out, the Al material alone cost more than I had any idea, so I am putting this on hold for now.

    Thanks

Maybe you could use short lengths of aluminum angle to make your joints?

You can get an idea of material costs here: Speedy Metals - 3-1/2" {A} Sq 6061-T6511 Aluminum, Extruded
