Beginner, Need help with the lead screw.

Hi guys im a beginner and i need help with the lead screw for a project that im working on.
After all the searching i did i came to understand that the lower the TPI the faster the nut can travel, so is it possible to have a lead screw with a really low TPI so that the nut can travel 70 cm/sec?
what are the limitations to the TPI and speed of lead screw and the motor RPM?
    thanks in advance

    Heshamoz,

The lower your tpi, the lower your resolution will be. Also the faster the screw turns, the more likely the screw will start to whip. There are always trade offs.

Generally, the longer the screw, the slower it can spin without whipping.
You can get screws with a 50mm lead, which would require about 840rpm to get your 70cm/sec. That should be easy to accomplish if the screw length is less than 2-3 meters. It might be a very expensive screw, though.
