Relatively new to machining but not shop time. Have worked in, and owned my own precision sheet metal shop. Currently working as a Design Engineer utilizing SolidWorks (last 10 years). Want to create a garage shop working my way into a CNC Mill for projects. I truly miss fabricating and want to make it a bigger part of my life again. Used to program CNC fabrication equip. (i.e. Punch Presses, Press Brakes, etc) so no stranger to CNC programming. I do though understand that Milling is a very different animal but feel my past experience puts me well on my way.

So, if there's anybody out there who is interested in teaching or offering a part time shop helper (free labor!!), I'd be very grateful. Still have many of my old tools (calipers, verneers, height gage, etc.) so can be helpful.

Where in Northern California are you? Do you already have a CNC mill, or are you thinking about building one?
