HI guys, the machine in question is a Hitachi Seiki VM50 Machining centre with a SEICOS A10 control. I'm desperate for advice if anyone can help. The problem is with the ATC servo, the alarm no. is 2B40 and the message says " magazine index unit abnormal" , the machine starts up and references fine, but won't operate in auto due to the alarm. Tried all the obvious stuff, resets, trips and ATC won't operate in maintenance mode. My local service engineer hasn't got a clue whats wrong, any ideas??

Hello,
does the data for the Spindle tool and standby tool match up? As in, if tool 02 is in the spindle and 03 is in the standby position, does the control reflect this information. I will look into further, but that is my first guess.
