Toolpath wont cover entire part unless I make stock larger?

    Hey guys,

I am making a simple cone out of 1" round bar , cone is 1' at bottom and reduces to 1/2" at top. toolpath will stop near bottom? I had to enlarge stock in wizard to 1/38" to get the toolpath completed? But now this messes with my toolpaths because it is going to be cutting air?

Any help or info would be appreciated.

    Thanks

here is a pic, you can see how the roughing toolpath wont go down any further towards the wide end? If i make the stock wider it will?Attachment 185746 this picture shows the finish toopath does go down as it should?

The z level rough toolpath evaluates the "stock" to be machined as opposed to the others, which evaluate the "surface being machined".

Can you post your file with the features in it? Maybe there is a method to get what you want, without the added air.

You stock is used as a boundary for 3D tool paths. So yes if you make the stock bigger will will go further down. Or that other thing you can do is select a boundary that give the tools enough room to travel around the outside of the part.

Thank so much guys. I just went and drew a circle around the part and selected it as the boundary in the roughing operation. now it is fixed.
