Hi there, hopefully someone here might be familiar with this model of machine, to be fair im quite over it! and the lack of support from the supplier! my question I really have is, can I somehow convert my machine to run standard firmware and software...... instead of the bug ridden crashing junk they supply with the machine! I have contacted them and worked with them for months on this, and now from shear desperation im over it..... Any help would be totally appreciated!

The machine runs a Gen6 board, with their 3dstuffmaker.com address printed on it, nema 17 motors, and some wog print head.... which is half of the problem!

I just want to start over and not be at their mercy.... What are my options?

I'm just starting my journey into 3d so bear with me, I'm just trying to be helpful. I have been to a lot of sites, and gathered a lot of info and found that, the best low cost software is Mach 3 ,which I have, coupled with something called slic3r. They are free downloads specific for 3d printers. Those using it seem very satisfied with it and it works fine with boards from Genex. Go over to rockcliffmachine.com or look at them here on this forum in router machines.

Mach 3 is about $175 for the licensed version that can run enough lines of code for a printer.
There are free great printer programs like Pronterface or Repetier that work great and are designed to run a printer, mach 3 is milling machine software first and foremost.
Look into the RAMPS 1.4 packages to run the printer, very reliable.
Also look at the LCD screens with sd card slots that plug into the ramps board for easy printer control without the need for a pc.

No computer, what do you mean by that. You mentioned ramps, what is that? What about those cards that plug in where? I need a primer about ramp and arduino in plain English. But, I don't know a lot about electronics or programing. Please tell me more.

The ramps is an all in one board, drivers, heater controls etc.
You load your g-code onto an sdcard (still need a computer to do your modeling and slicing) put it in the lcd boards slot, push the knob a few times and you're printing.
