    NC link to Koike D11

I'm using XR4 Profile on Windows XP, and was using Turbocut as a link since One-cnc didn't offer it at the time. Computer crashed and was able to retrieve all my programs and files except Turbocut which is no longer . Trying to get Nc link to work with my Koike D 11 burn table control. Help !

Re: NC link to Koike D11

Getting NC Link to communicate with your Koike D-11 control involves ensuring proper compatibility, communication settings, and file formats. Here's how to proceed:

    1. Confirm File Format Compatibility
Check if your Koike D-11 control requires a specific NC code format or post-processor output. It’s essential to match the output from OneCNC to what the Koike control expects.
Review your OneCNC post-processor settings to generate the proper G-code file.
    2. Set Up NC Link
Download and install NC Link on your Windows XP system. It's a common RS232 communication software.
Configure NC Link with the correct parameters matching your Koike D-11 burn table control. Common settings include:
Baud rate: Match the Koike's control settings.
Data bits: Usually 7 or 8.
    Parity: Even, odd, or none.
Stop bits: Typically 1 or 2.
Flow control: Hardware, software, or none.
    3. Connect via RS232
Confirm the physical RS232 connection between your PC and the burn table control. If your computer lacks a native RS232 port, use a USB-to-RS232 adapter. Make sure its drivers are properly installed.
Ensure the cable type (null modem or straight-through) matches the requirements of your Koike D-11.
    4. Test Communication
Use NC Link’s terminal or file transfer features to test sending a simple G-code program to the Koike control.
If no response or errors occur, verify the cable wiring and matching communication parameters.
    5. Check for Koike Documentation or Support
If you encounter persistent issues, consult the Koike D-11 manual for detailed RS232 communication settings.
Some older controls may require specific handshake protocols or a specific sequence for starting the communication.
    6. Alternative Approaches
If NC Link doesn’t work, consider using other legacy RS232 software, like:
CIMCO Edit: Robust software for communication and editing.
HyperTerminal: A built-in terminal in Windows XP (or use third-party equivalents).
    7. Post-Processor Adjustments
If communication works but the burn table doesn’t accept the file, ensure the OneCNC post-processor matches the Koike D-11’s requirements. You may need to tweak headers, start/stop codes, or coordinate formats.
    Hope this will help you.

Re: NC link to Koike D11

Thanks elephantcnc, I think I am at #7 on your list . The D11 is a Picopath generic control era 1993. The One cnc nc link doesn't have a post in the dropdown list that will match . Mostly milling or lathe posts. The D11 rs232 is using ascII numbers like dialog start 33 ,dialog stop 42,prompt 3 acknowledge 62 , character code ascII etc.
