Wanting to ditch alphacam/alphalink for mastercam offline programming

Pardon me if this isn't the right spot but i couldn't find a subforum for Alpha lathes or for DNC, and as this is more a file transfer protocol issue, I thought this would be a better spot than the Mastercam forum.

Our company has 2 Harrison Alpha lathes. A 400 and a 550. Both have offline computers currently attached for programming using alphacam. The company wants to get away from the alphacam/alphalink software and wants to replace it with Mastercam programming. The software is DOS based and cumbersome to use. To upgrade software does not make sense as the price tag was quoted at a level equal to 3 yrs of maintenance on our mastercam seat. Does anyone have any experience ditching the alphacam and converting to another programming software? What headaches am i in for?

    Thanks,

    Tony

    Hello,

For those of Harrison that are transferred before the old DOS programs (Alpha Cam) Alink.exe 1.7 - 1.88 , is available in the new communication link ( IguSystem Alphalink ) Win7 / 8/10 . Please ask [email protected]
