x y setup for auxillary spindle

    Hi All,

I have added an aux spindle to my 1100, as discussed in another thread, and I'm trying to figure out the best way to use it.

I have used G52 to set the x y zero of the spindle in relation to the main spindle, but I wanted to ask if that is the best way to do it? Perhaps other users have a better way to set up?

    Thanks
    Terry

I use a second co-ord system just for it. Anything on the high-speed spindle goes in g55. That way I can easily change as needed. I try and shy away from g52 because, if you aren't paying attention, it's easy to forget that it's set. But that's just me.

Thanks for the reply, your method makes a lot of sense. It could be easy to overlook that's you've set G52.
