Hi all,
I am starting to move from making wax prototypes to using Aluminium to mill robot parts and I am a little stuck with deciding if I can use the 6060 grade on my CNC machine.
To be more specific I can give you some facts.

1. The machine is an Optimum bf20l converted to cnc, with a max spindle speed of 3000rpm(I would prefer to just use this and not add high speed router).
2. I have 2 major types I can get here in Austria/Germany these are
a. AlMgSi0,5 6060 t66
b. AlCuMgPB 2007

On these German websites they say that the 2007 grade is a machining quality but it is only available in round bar not flat and most of my designs would be better of suited to using some flat bar. Most of the smaller CNC shops online that sell the 6060 grade are also selling CNC router kits..which use a much higher spindle speed than i have. I'm mostly interested in getting nice chips, good parts, long tool life and also was wondering if any of you here have used the 6060 grade for making nice parts with similar machines as mine

cheers
Adam
