    Hurco BMC 20 - won't calibrate

    Topic:

    Hurco BMC 20 - MAX32DSP 386pc
    Yaskawa Drives

I have a problem with calibration - "Error positioning to marker"

    1) I notice that when the limit switch is not turned on (plus or minus on all axes) - during the calibration we received a message - positioning error to the Z marker ( calibration machine push button then Z axis move and press the +Z limit switch, then move to the marker whit error)
This means that it is not possible to calibrate the Z axis without the -X limit switch being pressed
    2) When we press the limit switch on the x axis with -X calibration follow correct on axis Z then we will get a positioning error to the X marker
    3) Sometimes when the calibration runs fine on the Z and X axes, the same problem occurs on the Y axis
    4) We change the calibration feed rate (from the limit switch to the marker from 20 to 2 inches per minute) -slightly better ability to calibrate the machine
    5) The error appears even if I get a "dot" after the axis symbol "X." - as I know it means the position of the marker - please check the photo

We check the axis limit switch, clean it (as always ????), check the wiring - no problems
Any idea what we can check?
bad axle plate in ISA rack?

Assuming you have axis reference switches and limit switches, usually the axis needs to find the zero marker after the reference switch but before the limit switch. Could be grid shift issue or sticking reference switch which should go high to low and high again before finding zero point.
