Hello all. I recently purchased a 2010 Mori NL2000 and have come across something odd, at least compared to the 2009 NL2500 we have at work. Short version:
On the lathe at work, with the key set to release, the door will still lock when closed, you can run programs etc. you just need to press the door unlock switch to open the door. From what I’ve read this behavior is normal.
On my lathe, the door will not lock (latch) when the key is on release. This means in order for me to run a program, I have to switch the key back to normal. Then of course if I need to load a new part and set the work offset, etc. I have to switch the key back to release. It’s kind of a pain really. I’d like to just leave the key on release.
Something interesting to note… Even when the machine has no power to it, if you close the door it locks. This means that something is holding that lock open intentionally when the key is turned to release and the power is on.
Any ideas?
Thanks!
