We are trying to find the best approach to cutting 2" thick foam on a MultiCam router. We cant seem to get a consistant clean cut without having to stop after each letter to clean the melted foam from the bit. Any insight or ideas?
Thanks,
Larry

increase your ipm. too fast will tear and to slow will melt
Increase feedrate, slow down spindle rpm's.
Well, after 15 tests, we figured it out.
1/2 dia 3 Edge Carbide Low Helix Bit, at 140 in/min feed rate, 2 passes (final pass at 1/4"), spindle speed 18,000rpm.
This works great with a smooth edge.
