I was cruising the local Lowe's last night looking for supplies before I start building and wishing I had more money when that sledom used glob of junk between my ears had a spark. "What if you made it out of Hardibacker, it is surely stronger than MDF, although not as thick" it said. So with thought in my head I quickly plugged my ears to keep it from floating off.
So my question is: "would it work?" I think Hardibacker only comes in a max of a 3/8" I would have to check. I didn't know if being that thin would matter or if it would crumble under some strain, or what. It comes in smaller sheets than MDF but it is half the price too.
