    Convert characters to bytes

    So I have a FAnuc 18-m, and want to determine the memory we have. I can only see the value in characters. How does this convert to bytes? I was expecting to see about 32kb but i see about 250,000 total characters......

    I think it is 8. 250,000 characters divided by 8 bytes per character gives 31250 bytes, or 31.25 kB.
