    Timing pulleys for retrofit?

Im just wondering if im using a 12 groove and a 30 groove timing pulley does it make a difference which one I put on the motor and which one I put on the ballscrew? I would think I would put the smaller one on the motor and the larger one on the ballscrew. But what would happen if I did it the opposite way?

    Thanks Mike

You will increase the maximum rpm of the ball screw but decrease the torque by the ratio factor, also the inertia ratio will be increased by the square of the increase.
