    Comm Cable

I want to make up my own communications cable. What is the best way to jumper the pins? I'm thinking they should be soldered.

    Thanks!

Yep, solder them wires. That's the only way I ever do. Well worth the extra time and effort.

Has what you need to make serial cables using RJ45 Cat 5 Network cables. The DB9 x RJ45F and DB25 x RJ45F connectors accept the end of the CAT5 cable. The only trick is to push the pins into the proper location so that one has the correct pinout. The pins do not come back out. I bought 10 of each connector for about $1.50 each. This is a better solution then building a standard serial cable. Use whatever length net work cable with the same connectors. We like oursvery much.
