I think all the Phytron drives are step and direction input, so they will work fine with MACH 2, TurboCNC etc.
I have the new microstepping ZMX drives and they work fine with TurboCNC. Just note that Phytron advertises the drives Peak current (9A peak for mine) which is a nonsense. My drives are 3.5A normal, and can be boosted to 4.5A with 5V on the boost pin.

One more thing. Note the interface on the Phytron drivers are normed back plane connectors (I think the ZSO are a different connector to mine, three row instead of two). Not a big deal, but you will have have to make up some form of back plane board.
