Hi folks,
I want to design and build a 3 axis cnc router for hobby level kind of stuff. I will be working primarily with hardwoods, some plastic and some aluminum.
I have not quite decided about table size, but due to room considerations I need to keep the footprint fairly small.
I have 09 SolidWorks premium and Corel X4 would ideally like to xfer my designs from on my computer directly to the controller for output.
I need to keep my cost at a bare minimum on this machine.
I do not have alot of experience with CNC but do have experience in related areas.
I am planning on a Gantry type sys. I am planning on an aluminum gantry and a steel base. with a combination vac and T slot table. I need all of the normal parts: some decent linear bearings, lead screws and nuts, motors and of course a decent controller that wont break the budget. I would like the electronics and software to be as turn key as possible.
What types of controllers, motors and linear bearings do y'all recommend?
