Unhappy Copied file not recognized on other lathe

    Hello,
-Copied files to USB from Lathe with OSP P300L controller
-Import files to Lathe with OSP P300LA controller
-Try to open the files and get an error with file number (not comfortable)
    -Tried different USB stick

The P300L does have a steady rest, while the P300LA does not. Could this be the cause of the issue? We were able to import other files that use the steady rest.

Copied 3 files, one works as intended while the other 2 come back with this error.

Any help would be very much appreciated.

    Thank you

What is the full name & extension you are using ? (ie ABC123.MIN)

What is the error ? ( This should answer everything )
What do you mean "not comfortable" ?
.... machine type (control you name), error number, 2 lines of text after the error number
.... or a good jpeg of the screen showing error

So... a Fanuc guy, what is the full error explaination ? As it all helps to point out the issue.
Later controls may have "HELP" key, press it when the error is active, it should display the solution.

Are you trying to use a file name like the Fanucs use ? Ie O1234.NC
    Try using Okuma naming rules
    Ie ABC123.MIN or A.MIN
Letters before numbers, no double Os etc.
.MIN is the extension for the machine code (like .TAP or .NC)

Thanks I understand my question is vague and I did not provide enough details. They are using files with a .PET extension.

hy crew i guess you are that guy with good windows skills, also good at fanuc robots + more

i am sorry, pet files are not always compatible between machines; it seems an easy way to transfer programs, but they do not hold only operations, as also machine specifics

but if it did not work one way, try from the other machine to the 1st

if this fails, don't discourage, there are still solutions / kindly

please, if possible, share those 2 errored files, or at least a photo of filename, or specify extension

You can copy part program files (.MIN files) but probably you can't edit IGF files in another machine because they are related specs or igf version.

Sure, the very first question is if these are part program files (.MIN). There is no point to copy other than part program (.MIN) and schedule program files between Okumas. Part program files can work on other machines also, after allignment with their specification.
if yes, you can locate the fragment of the text which is not comfortable.

The file extension is ".PET" I cannot get a picture currently as the lathe is in full production of other parts.
