ALARMS 945 (SERIAL SPINDLE COMMUNICATION ERRORS)

    Hi!
We have John ford ST60B machine(Fanuc 0-TC) with following error on startup:

945 : A communication error occurred in the first serial spindle.
Power supply module(A06B-6087-H130) in electrical cabinet displays alarm code:02

the manual describes the causes as:

A poor connection between a memory printed–circuit board and the serial
    spindle amplifier may occur .

The memory printed–circuit board is defective.
The cable between the memory printed–circuit board and optical I/O
link adapter has a broken wire or is unhooked.
The optical I/O link adapter is defective.
The fiber optics cable has a broken wire or is unhooked.
The serial spindle amplifier is defective.

We have another machine ST-60A So I can easily verify I/o link adapter and cables from other machine.they are OK. Now should I go for memory card first or the spindle amplifier module as both require some time.Which in general will most probably be the culprit.
    Spindle amp. module is: A06B-6102-H226#H520
    Mem module: A16B-2201-0101/09A

Communications error occured in the serial spindle. The optical fiber may be disconnected. The hardware configuration is incorrect for the serial spindle, or a communication alarm occurred. Check the hardware configuration of the spindle. Also ensure that the hardware for the serial spindle is connected securely.

Start with the basic stuff. Check the input voltages. In our case the main supply switch was faulty and was missing one phase. In my experience the remedy given in manual helps only 10% of the time.
