Since this is my first post I give it the prefix newbie..
I have a small old conventional lathe. I also have 3 steppers and controller that has been laying in a box for a couple of years waiting for the right moment.
Here's the idea,
Assume that I mount a rotating spindle equipped with some ER-collet and an end mill on the tool post pointing towards the chuck, parallell with z-axis.
Also asssume that I mount a stepper on X, Z and C.
Is it then possible to easily use it as a milling machine running X and C simultaneously milling "straight edges" and also programming just a straight edge (not programming a straight movement for X together with a rotational movement for C) ?
IF it is possible, is it done in Mach or in the CAM-software ?
The only words or term I find describing this way of working is XC-Plane-Switch, se below link.
