    NOVA the Ulfberht Sword.

    Definitely worth watching, a modern day blacksmith reproduces one of the most famous inlaid swords in history, the Viking Ulfberht.
    Steel quality that was not seen until centuries later.

    Al, I saw that show. Very interesting.

    Turns out the blacksmith guy is here in Wisconsin, Door County. Fittingly, Door County was settled by Icelanders and Swedes. Viking heritage and all that.

    We have a very large Icelandic population here also, I was at the recent annual festival Islendingadagurinn (try saying that after you've had a couple)!!
    The second oldest continuous ethnic festival in North America celebrating viking roots.
