Looking for advice.
I have an MD001 IH clone. Large, solid, huge travels.
Not square. I have been using an indicator and a cylindrical square to shim and adjust to get virtually no deflections over the vertical travels measuredd against the x or y surface of the cylindrical square. That's the good news.
The bad news is whan I tighten the z axis saddle locks it shifts in the y direction about .006". So, I went through it again making sure I always has the z saddle locked, for consistency and so far so good.
I'm now at a point where with the saddle unlocked, I can slip a .008" feeler gauge in between the ways and the saddle. I've tried adjusting the gib screws but all it seems to do is make it hard to move the z axis up and down and doesn't change the gap.

Any suggestions??
