Hi, I have a problem and need some inputs from you guys. My mill (Enco45, 32”X9”) I converted to CNC a few years ago and worked find till now. A few months ago one of my stepper motors’ driver (Y axis) burned. I checked the circuit and find out that the current the motor requires was too much for the driver to handle it. The Y axis table friction has increased by the time and after cleaning the contact surfaces not much was gain. I wonder what I should do to improve the sliding surfaces to lower the force that make it slide. When the Y table is centered the force is minimized, but when its position to either side then the force to move it increases a lot and the motor can hardly move it. I am using a 1200 Oz motor with 2 to 1 reduction pulleys. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks.
