I have a dilemma establishing a part zero on our Haas mills. For this particular part, we use a "halo" fixture attached to the end of a tombstone to stand up a piece of bar stock and mill from the end. TLOs are measured from the top of this halo. We use a template positioned over a 1/2 EM to move the part around in X and Y until the template is centered then we run the profiling program. On our old Light Machines Benchman mill, I would use G92 X0 Y0 Z0 to establish this new centered point as part 0, to start all milling operations from this point. On our Haas mills, running this line sends the Z axis straight up and it faults out in Z over travel. Thank you in advance for any help offered.
