According to the 3000H manual there is an error code for "ERROR CODE 24 Spindle speed too high." So I would think it would let you know if it couldn't move fast enough for the requested lead...
There's also an error code for Pitch too large...
hmm. the first time i ran it i think the rpm was 500 and i accidentally put in .8333 instead of .0833 so it should have been around 1/3 of what i would expect but it seemed much slower than that but it's hard to perceive something like that. next time i set spindle for 200 rpm and fixed the lead it was at a snails pace. i am "pretty sure" its a metric feed, the threading cycle conversational tool on the machine doesn't ask you units. but i want to be sure. i might not get a chance to test it again till friday. metric threading seems ok.
