Hey guys,
I just wanted to say thank you to Hoss and everyone else that has helped me with my spindle bearing replacement.
Before I replaced the spindle bearings, I checked my run-out just inside the spindle using a dial indicator that measures in half thousandths. With the original bearings, my spindle had a run-out of just under 0.002. This was measured by checking the spindle at the R8 taper, just inside the spindle.
I replaced the original bearings with bearings from bearingsdirect (7007C and 7005C). After replacing the bearings, I checked for run-out. My spindle (just inside the R8 taper) now has a run-out of 0.0005. I'd say that's a win ;-)
Again, I just wanted to say thank you to those that helped me with the bearings and figured out which way they go!
Thank you!
