    Cheap 1Amp microstepping bipolar driver using the PICSTEP.

    Attached is the PDF schematic for one axis.

    Here is a picture of a 3 axis PCB using the TEA3718SP:

    Fit's nicely on a eurocard (100x160mm) but needs a double sided PCB.
    Single sided is possible but would need quite a few jumper wires.
    These TEA3718SP's can be recuperated from printer PCB's or even bought new for a few buck's each, a lot cheaper than LMD's if 1 Amp (or a bit more) is enough for your application.

    The concept of this R2R DAC can be used for other chips also.
