Hello All,

My son and I built a CNC of his design to mostly cut aluminum, and overall it works great with great accuracy. We have two motors in sync with each other driving the x-axis, so it's important that these always stay perfectly aligned with each other. Whenever we turn on the machine it seems like all the power hits the motors, and there is an audible sound from the motors. The problem is that we have seen that this sometimes causes the motors to turn ever so slightly, though have seen the two X Axis motors shift in opposite directions. We are looking for ideas on how to stop this from happening - maybe a limiter of some kind? It only happens when the power first hits the motors, then everything works fine. It's just that initial surge that may cause a shift that puts the motors out of alignment. I can provide additional information on the electrical setup if needed though wanted to see if anyone has had this issue and how it was solved.

Thanks in advance for your input.
