The Z-axis on my Brother Drilling/Tapping center has a brake that is separate from the z-axis servo motor. My Technician has setup the drives and motors
to energize by way of a physical switch. The plan is to turn on the control
and bring up CamSoft (at this point the brake would be holding the z-axis in place) turn on the drives/motors with our switch which would apply power
to our drives/motors and brake. This would release the brake and allow the
Z-axis motor to hold the Z-axis in place.
From here we would home the machine and go about our business.
At days end with the Z-axis all the way up we would turn off the drives/motors and brake with our switch and the brake will hold the Z-axis in place.

Does this sound right? Are we missing anything?
Thanks in advance,
Ben
