Hi,

I am currently using a 2 HP wood router on my DIY cnc machine, I am currently looking into changing it to a 3 HP router and I started looking at VFD and speed control.

I saw a couple interesting production and I am wondering if anyone have experience or recommendation of what should be the best buy for my bucks.

I am looking for
1. a variable spindle for wood cutting from 8000-25000 RPM or around that.
2. price around 400$-700$ lower if there any but I don't want to sacrifice quality for a fake bargain.
3. something reliable and of good quality
4. I have basic to moderate knowledge in electronic, I know how PWM and VFD work but preferable something easy to install and setup or work great together with a Gecko g-540 and Mach3.

the 2 options I have right now is the

Super-PID for controlling a standard wood router
www.SuperPID.com - Super-PID Closed-loop Router Speed Controller

combined with a 3HP router like this one
Freud | 3-1/4 HP Plunge Router | Home Depot Canada

I do not know if the PID work as advertised and if it can compare to a VFD system.

my other option is to go with a spindle and VFD like the one Kelling offer:

CNC Spindle Controller - CNC Spindle
i'd go for a KL-VFD15 and a KL-1500 HP spindle

downside is a heard those chinese VFD are garbage and I should buy the spindle but not the VFD, but I am not sure of the spindle quality and where to get a better vfd that will be compatible.

does anyone have recommendation on those or if I should go with another product I missed ?

i'd like to stick within the 400$-700$ price range and between 2-3HP router
it is for a machine that work about 4-5 hours per day.

Thanks
