I would like to use the same DeskCNC board.

I plan on either "Y"ing the Step and Dir lines (or a switch if must be)
for the X and Y axis lines coming from the DeskCNC board.

I have ordered a second Stepper driver board for the Lathe.
I am not sure how this would work. you can save different profiles on the desk cnc board and reload them under machine setup, but you would also need to make a different deskcnc program on the computer for the lathe. I know both are possible separately, no idea how it would work together. Personally I think the extra $150 for a second board would be worth it. You can purchase a second board without the software once you have a license. Then you would just need to make a switch for the power supplies and switch serial cables, add a second serial cable port, or usb to serial adapter.

It really should just be a matter of switching profiles

I was hoping to be able to load the profile from the command line

    C:\DeskCNC,exe Lathe.ini
    C:\DeskCNC,exe Mill.ini

This is where I wish I had a good manual

Not sure why I did not tell you to do this in the first place, but send a email to clarken at [email protected] <[email protected]>. Most importantly post back with his reply. We need to get as much activity as possible so we can all learn form each other.
