    steppers gaining steps

    hello all.
i got a situation i need help with, my z axis on my mtc build is gaining steps it seems when doing 3d files from aspire. I check the steps and do measurments when there is no load on it and it all comes out fine. but at the end of a file i am gaining 1/8 or more. I have Deskcnc as the controller and the motors is 117oz nema 23. the lead screw is 1/4 - .05 One the axes setup page in deskcnc the steps per in. is set to 40000.00 for the z . just a little frustrated at this point. Any advice i would be greatful for.

    Thanks
    William

you mean on the acceleration scale in deskcnc setup.

it is currently set to 17 what should i go to . This is what Mtc sent over in thier .ini file.

I don't use DeskCNC, so don't know for sure, but try setting it to 10. Also try oiling the screw.

i changed the acelleration scale to 1 but it seems to be going just as fast.
i am running a program right now to see if it will actually change.

After you change the setting, close DeskCNC and reopen. See if that helps.

i did that. didnt help. does anyone use deskcnc. if so what would be a good acceleration to sart with. accelleration scale. the one that MTC sent over just seems to slam everywhere. kinda really lost at this point. but it seems to gain a 1/8 every time

Did the Z work correctly in the past? When you did the step and measurement testing, was the spindle running or off?
