Hi everyone .,

My name is Chris and I own a engineering shop here in the u.k that manufactures car parts.

Now I am considering making a small engraving machine , around 18" square .

Reason being , most of our parts are now engraved with our logo and we are finding the cnc mills we have. ( matchmaker vmc and haas mini mill). Really get tide up engraving when they could be. Actually making the parts.

I have been on the forum for a while now reading up on different builds that people have been doing and getting some ideas, but I am just wondering is it going be worth our time actually going to the trouble of makimh one of these when we can go out and buy one complete ..... I have seen quite a few different makes on ebay, most seem to be made in china,.. Are these any good? I brought one on here a couple of years back from widgitmaster which was a very good ridgid machine but I was so busy at the time we ended up not using it and just selling it on . I think that would be the sort of machine I would be looking to build as we kept the plans.

What steppers be recommend ?

Also, would it be possible to get the control to work with onecnc?

Any advice would be good . Cheers guys
