    Glued a pulley yesterday with Loctite, we will see if it holds..

    Power supply almost done and bolted to wall. Still need to add power switches, not sure if I put those outside in seperate box. And still some wires.. Y servo has cables too, little nicer couplings this time with shorter heatshrink tubing..

    It seems to be ~113V, and 2x545VA with 6800uF capacitors. Might be a little lethal with open case.. :nono:

    I hope you're not seriously using "vintage" electrolytic capacitors? You will surely one day have those things explode on you. Old electrolytics are a bad idea! And I don't know your exact system specs, but I can tell you 6800uF is quite a bit too small for those servos, probably by a factor of two or more. They should be sized by:

    C = 80,000 * I / V

    Where:

    C is the required capacitance, in uF
    I is the power supply rated output current
    V is the power supply output voltage

    Those are Rifa PEH200 250VDC, shouldn't be too vintage. No idea where that ebay link came from, it says "Link added by VigLink". Nice feature. :tired:

    Drivers can handle up to 50% ripple, but 10-20% is recommended.

    Not sure about your "80000", but I used equation: C = I(load) * T / U(ripple) where T in cycle time (50Hz = 0.01s)

    With 1130W peak it would be 10A so with 15% ripple:
    C = 10A*0.01s/(113V*0.15) = 0.005899.. F = ~5900uF so 6800uF should be enough.

    With your equation I get:
    C = 80000*10/113 = 7079.646... uF =~7100uF

    So I think those will have enough juice..

    Some progress with belt drive. Still needs at least some kind of axle, bearing "holders" and motor stands..

    Nice job on the pulleys. WHat type of belt is that? Those are pretty big grooves.

    Thanks, though my friend turned those almost entirely, I did some roughing..

    That is Gates Polyflex JB, only one that I found which can handle high speeds and 3HP with my height restriction (and was cheap enough)..
