    Exclamation Axis not recognised

    Hi guys,

Hope someone can help, but I have a techno HDS, I had a job set up and working yesterday but when I came back to it today the head had been moved and now when ever I try to start the program up again it says 11 axis cannot be found!

I've tried resetting the origin and this hasn't worked anyone have any ideas?

    Cheers
    Dean

    Hey Dean,

    I'm going to speak to our HD/HDS expert here about this as I haven't come across that specific error but I have some basic troubleshooting questions;

Have you tried restarting the controller and PC and starting your job again, setting it up as you had yesterday, or have you only tried to operate it in its current state?

When you say the head has moved, along what axis and how far? Was the machine shut down overnight or left running? Basically, would you assume that the movement was don't via jogging/software control or by someone bumping into/pushing the gantry manually.

    Thanks,

    Hi Dean,

I think you may have misread the error message is it "011 Axis not referenced."

If so then it's just a case of having to Home the machine by pressing home all.

You need to home the machine when you initially turn it on. Z will move up and then XY will move to their home position. Once it is homed that message will disappear.
Homing provides the machine with a reference position that allows it to locate the tool positions and origins.

There should be a folder on the HDS computers desktop called HDS Documents (or some similar name.) This folder contains quick guide manuals and flow charts for the machine.
Give me your email address and I will send you the most up to date manuals.

Yes that was the message we got, we tried setting the home again before I posted the original thread and it didn't work. Since then we have unloaded the job and reloaded it, we still got the error message.

I have just tried resetting the home now, and all is working well.

Thanks for the help guys, the tech normally in charge of this machine is off today and I'm yet to be trained on it.
