    Deals on Aluminum Stock

Just thought i'd give a heads up to everyone on some deals on various 6061-T6511 aluminum stock I came across over at another forum I visit (garagejournal.com).There was a post in the hot deals section about some 6061 deals available at Amazon. Amazon bought smallparts.com a while back and this is inventory from that. There are likely other deals to be found, but some good deals were linked to. Some of these appear to be really good deals especially since they qualify for free super saver shipping or prime.

The below links were ripped from the Garage Journal Forums. Credit to lametec over there. Aluminum (6061-T6511) cheap at Amazon - The Garage Journal Board

For reference here are the current prices on Speedy metals for the closest size without going larger. (sorry, but I was too lazy to link them)

    Round:

    2-1/2" x 36"=$69.48

    1" x 4" x 36"=$64.35
    3/8" x 10" x 72"=$150.24
    1/2" x 8" x 72"=$124.17
    3/4" x 6" x 36"=$82.81
    1-1/2" x 2" x 72"=$93.28
    1-1/2" x 3" x 36"=$59.96
    1/2" x 8" x 36"=$34.73
    5/8" x 5" x 72"=$122.39
    1-3/4" x 2-1/2" x 36"=$
    1-1/4" x 1-3/4" x 72"=$ 57.97

There are few reviews (vary by shape) and the reviews are applied to every different size of a particular shape. The review for the flats is from 2011. I know Amazon is not synonymous with metal supplier, but it appears to be something they want to get their hands in. The one review on the flats state they were not marked with specifications, but that it machined like you would expect 6061 to. I ordered $200(which doesn't goes as far as you would think) worth of various sizes, hopefully it doesn't turn out to be crap.

Wow, this is bad, I'm way too young to be having senior moments. It just occurred to me that this thread should have went in the web deals forums. I so seldom venture outside of the benchtop sub-forum that I often forget just how many other subforums there are. In this case I forgot there was a hot deals section on the zone. My apologies.

Could a mod please move this thread the Web Deals forum?

You can fix your links by removing the extra slash between d and p.

    Code:
    Change this:
    www.amazon.com/d/p/B003U6I0JE/

    Into this:
    www.amazon.com/dp/B003U6I0JE/

Good catch, but oddly enough, the extra slash doesn't appear in my original text. It seems to get added once clicked. If you qoute my original post, you can see the exact text I have entered and the extra slash doesn't appear. I wonder why it's getting added.
